Charity Calendar 2023

Heading out for a day’s hike solo develops your confidence and with a group it expands your social circle through meeting a variety of people from different backgrounds who all share a love of the lakes.

A massive thank you to Cumbrian photographer, Jeanne Rogers for creating a 2023 calendar with all profitable proceeds going towards Carlisle Eden Mind and the Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue.

This is the fourth year Jeanne has used her talents to create calendar for charity. Her previous work raised money for Breast Cancer Now, a special needs school and nursery in Gambia, last year was for Crohn’s and Colitis and this year after gathering charity suggestions, she wanted to keep it local and chose Carlisle Eden Mind and Lake District Mountain Rescue.

The beautiful photography featured in Jeanne’s calendar are all from her UK travels. Jeanne’s passion is to capture memories, from Weddings to Christenings, Babies to Grandparents and everything else in-between. capturing those timeless moments of pure joy, excitement, fascination, silliness and of course love.

Freeze time and capture those important details forever...

We asked Jeanne about how she came to create the calendar and about her career as a photographer:

It is the fourth year I have produced a calendar, with all profitable proceeds previously going to, breast cancer now, a special needs school and nursery in Gambia, last year was for Crohn’s and Colitis and this year after gathering charity suggestions, I went with CE Mind and Lake District Mountain Rescue, keeping it all local and receiving £322.45 each.

I have always loved photographs, looking back on moments captured in time is precious. I used to love taking a roll of film into the local shop and waiting excitedly to collect the packet and see what had came out. Obviously now with digital it is very different, I got my first DSLR around ten years ago and love to explore new places with a camera and a few lenses in tow.

All the images in the calendar are from my UK travels, it was really hard to narrow down to just 12 as we have so much to offer within this country. I included some images that I had taken from a solo trip to explore Wales, others from Scotland during a camper van road trip and the stunning Lake District which we are so lucky to have on our doorstep.

I chose CE Mind and The Lake District Mountain Rescue as for me they go hand in hand, hiking offers adventure, stunning scenery (even when it’s raining) and great mental and physical exercise. Heading out for a day’s hike solo develops your confidence and with a group it expands your social circle through meeting a variety of people from different backgrounds who all share a love of the lakes.

Thank you so much Jeanne for thinking of us!
