Breathing Space (Friendship Group) – Carlisle, Penrith & Appleby
Breathing Space is a relaxed and welcoming friendship group for anyone looking to connect with others in a supportive, friendly environment. Whether you’re feeling a little isolated or simply want to meet new people, this group offers a chance to enjoy good conversation, a cuppa, and some light activities in a judgement-free space. We currently run sessions in Carlisle, Penrith, and Appleby. There’s no pressure to talk—just come as you are and take a moment to breathe. We have dedicated support staff and volunteers to help signpost you to further support if you need it.

Living with ADHD whilst not a mental health condition can feel overwhelming at times. It can also impact your mental health but you don’t have to navigate that alone. Our ADHD Peer Support Group in Carlisle, Cumbria is a safe space that runs once a month for people of all ages who are either diagnosed with ADHD or exploring the possibility. Here, you can share experiences, swap coping strategies, and connect with others who truly understand what it’s like. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or just looking for people who get it, our group offers encouragement, insight, and a sense of belonging. We’re here to support each other, one conversation at a time. If you enjoy being creative—or want to try something new—our Creative Club for Wellbeing is a great way to relax, express yourself, and connect with others. You don’t need to be “good at art” to take part. This is all about enjoying the process, having a go, and letting your creativity support your mental health. From painting and journaling to craft sessions and mindful doodling, there’s always something new to try.
