Get Set to Go is an exciting new programme launched to help people bring more physical activity into their lives. Physical and mental health have a strong link. By introducing physical activity into the lives of all people we hope to:
- Improve the quality of life for people who have or are experiencing mental health problems
- Make access to sport easier in the local community
People experiencing stress, anxiety and mild depression have seen a reduction in these feelings when taking part in regular physical activity. In addition it also helps to improve mood and wellbeing, self-esteem, and better brain function.
In doing so, we hope to reach the maximum number of people who will benefit from this service as possible.
